All,

Thank you all on behalf of the club for everyone’s help on Saturday.
As you know this is our big event of the year, and for a small club like us every one has to help to make it a great day.

It was a good day and every one helped fantastic.

We had 24 kids run the junior race, from small things a good event may grow, well done Andrew Stevenson for winning.

We had 160 finishers in the senior race.

I am not sure if we broke even or not as some entrants have paid for the 2011 race and some need a refund, because of the postponement.
We still took almost £700 on the day and about £1,100 through the on line entry.
Our aim is not make money on the race and we paid out £1,200 on caps for the bag, and £700 in prize money.

We have loads stuff for next year, if fact if we had to run the race again tomorrow we could, so less out lay next year I guess.
This means loads of stuff in my attic, my kids and I emptied 220 goodie bags Sunday morning.
IT IS A GOOD THING WE ALL LIKE GRENOLA BARS, Alexander ate 5 for his breakfast this morning only another 215 to go.

I am looking forward to the summer season, loads of hill races if any one wants to join me let that would be great.
I can also recommend the Highland Fling, last years event was a good day out for the club, a good result for the club and a great laugh.
We are planning a prize night for all as per last year, and a curry night early in the summer, come and bore us all with your chat!!!!

Duncan.

It was a great achievement for the club everyone worked well to ensure that it was both a successfull and enjoyable day.
I think a special big thanks must go to Duncan and Stephen for all their hard work with the behind the scene preparation of the race.
I think the club is entering an exciting stage with the success of the Junior section and the increase in numbers of new members.
Its also fantastic to see people running so well especially Caroline Jones who has had three pbs in a row and she's getting faster.
I think we should be proud of ourselves we can only get stronger.Three cheers for the Maryhill Harriers
